The Seminole Indians

The Seminole Indians are Native Americans originally from Florida. Although they started out in northern Florida, many Seminoles settled in south Florida in the Everglades as a result of being attacked by settlers. Today, most Seminoles speak English, although some also speak one of the two native Seminole languages, Miccosukee and Creek. Osceola, pictured here, was a Seminole warrior who fought for the rights of the Seminole nation.
