Manatees

Manatees, sometimes called sea cows, are slow-moving, bulky water mammals. These unusual Florida creatures can live up to 60 years. Manatees have a low tolerance for cold water so they seek warmer waters such as natural springs and the warm waters generated by hydro-electric plants. Although they look fat, manatees simply have a large muscle mass and an enormous digestive system.
