Sandhill Cranes

Florida Sandhill Cranes don't migrate north like their cousins, the North American Sandhill Cranes. Instead, they live here year-round. They are omnivores, eating seeds, bugs, fish, mice, lizards, and crayfish. Pairs of Sandhill Cranes stay together for life. The female lays 1-2 eggs in a nest that is carefully guarded from predators. In the late spring you can spot pairs of adult Sandhill Cranes walking about with their babies.
